A Masterpiece of a Debut – Now is the Real Dystopia? All Our Wrong Todays by Elan Mastai

One of the best books I’ve read in a long time, All Our Wrong Todays, was a far-reaching, insightful, and witty, novel, disguised as a shallow time-travel piece. I cried, I laughed, I yelled in frustration, as I read, Elan Mastai’s debut, in was an emotional roller-coaster.

How To Maximize Your Buy Links

As a blogger, Indie Author, or in my case, both, tracking and analytics is imperative to continued success. If something works, you want to know that it works and then you want to know what you did, so you can repeat it. No one is going to knock on your door and say “Hey, what you did there. It rocked. Do it again.” But, if you see that people are clicking, things like links… a lightbulb can go off, and you’ll realize that your efforts are paying off. If you can’t tell what people are clicking, though…well you’ve lost before you even started.

A Diverse Read That Takes a Bit of Patience to Read…Finding Gideon

Finding Gideon was marketed as a stand-alone, even though there are more stories in this series, and technically it is, but I did feel that I fell feet first into a story that I wasn’t ready for. I think it had to do with the main POV in the beginning which was Medianoche, which starts out in a place I didn’t want to be. I didn’t like him, I didn’t want to read about him…and it kept increasing.

Romancing the Weekend: Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs

Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series has been a favorite of mine for several years, and by book 10 (10!!!) these characters are like old friends. I love paranormal stories, and Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thomson series is one of the best. She had my attention at the first line:

Book Signings 101 – What I Learned From A Year of Signings

The weekend that passed, was Booking in Biloxi, a large author even that is held every year in the city of Biloxi, Mississippi. The BiB signing was the first signing that I participated in as a new author. It took me almost a year to work myself up to do a signing – and – also to make it onto a list. So, after this recent event, I had successfully (loose interpretation of successful) completed one year of signings. This is what I’ve learned.

The Most Useless New Year’s Resolutions

We all make them: Useless New Year’s Resolutions. I’m guilty. Lose five pounds by March, join a gym, stop cursing…to name a few. We’re even guilt of making ridiculous ones when it comes to reading and blogging. Here are a few that I think might not be feasible, what do you think?

My Love Affair With Vellum – Create The Perfect eBooks

Since publishing my first book I’ve been looking for a better way to format and publish. I’ve downloaded a lot of software, I’ve battled with KindleGen, I’ve uploaded books and encountered kickback after kickback because of formatting issues. When I decided to self-publish I knew there would be issues, but I thought formatting would not be one of them. I’m a graphic designer. I can typeset. That’s what I did as an intern. Easy-peasy. But, then I did it. Or tried to do it. And I realized each online retailer has different rules and regulations. And I broke every single one.

The January 2017 Must Read List

The January 2017 Must Read List – Must read book that are releasing in January 2017.

There are a lot of really good books releasing this month. One the AUTO-BUY list are books by Karen Marie Moning, Maria V. Snyder, and Veronica Roth. I hope you didn’t set a New Year’s book budget restriction for 2017, because it looks like it’s going to be a good year.

Cast in Flight by Michelle Sagara – Fantasy #Review

My biggest complaint about this book is that it is number twelve in a series. Unfortunately NetGalley needs to update their series displays, unless it’s in the synopsis you can’t tell if it’s a series book. Yes, shame on me, I should have gone onto Goodreads.com and checked, but you see a pretty cover and a cool blurb and you get excited and you click. So, I think this book would have been much better if I was actually committed to the series, since there were eleven books that came before it.
