The Sex Bucket List – An Original and Enjoyable Contemporary by Prescott Lane

The name and genre this book is listed in do not give it justice. The cover, name, and everything else lead you to believe this is gonna be another one of those explicit erotica contemporary romances that are really nothing more than a bunch of sex scenes and little plot. But, this book is nothing of the sort. I was surprised that it is classified within erotica, because I would have thought this would be a straight up romance. Yes, it’s hot – but there is a whole lot more going on than just sexy time.

Review: Afterburn by Scott Nicholson

Afterburner, the first book in the NEXT series by Scott Nicholson is a heavy, post-apocalyptic adventure that will not let you up for one second. It’s an intense ride in the vein of classic, apocalypse fiction, but in a modern and diverse narrative. The book takes place in a pre-established world that is in Scott’s AFTER series, but it can be read as a stand-alone.

The Player and the Pixie by Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway

PJV QUICKIE: Get ready for fangirling – Penny Reid is my go-to author when I need a read that’s guaranteed to catch and keep my interest, and The Player and the Pixie is no exception. This is the second installment in The Rugby series, Ms. Reid’s collaboration with L.H. Cosway, and I loved it! Review: Rainbow-haired Lucy Fitzpatrick loves her mother, sometimes. Having an...

Betrayed By Blood (Betrayed #1) by Victoria Renteria

Betrayed by Blood from debut author Victoria Renteria was a pleasant surprise. Not often do you find such depth from a new author. But, Renteria delivered an emotional and very intense read that had me unable to put the book down. The cliffhanger ending has me dying to read more…

Happily Ever Ninja

PJV QUICKIE: Penny Reid has written a humorous, heartfelt, and honest love letter to marriage. I was not expecting to feel as many emotions as I did while reading Happily Ever Ninja – some good, some not so good – but overall I was thrilled to be back in the Knitting in the City world. Review: Fiona Archer met the love of her life in college, got married, had a career and put it on hold after...

Truth or Beard by Penny Reid #Review

PJV QUICKIE: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if you haven’t read any of Penny Reid’s books – why not? I’ve enjoyed her Knitting in the City series and while reading book 4, Beauty and the Mustache, I fell in love with the Winston brothers. If Truth or Beard is any indication of the rest of the series, all I can say is “Take my money and give...
