How does this work? The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

When did you start blogging?

I only started blogging in April this year, so I’m still a bit of a newbie 🙂 But so far I’m loving it!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Most of my friends don’t read & don’t get why I love books so much, so I had nobody to gush about my latest reads to. By blogging I get to talk to so many great people & authors who share that crazy passion!

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Mostly YA & NA fantasy, paranormal & of course romance! I’ve been on a bit of a NA romance binge lately 🙂

What is your favorite book(s)?

I can’t choice just one soo… The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling, Anne Of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Persuasion By Jane Austen, Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout & Embrace by Jessica Shirvington!

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Well my favourite author Jessica Shirvington loved a review I wrote for one of her books, I then got an arc copy of her new book to review. I absolutely love this woman & the fact that she read my review felt kinda awesome *grins*

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging back in November of 2011, I still feels like yesterday because I still have so much to learn!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part about blogging is of course my followers! If it wasn’t for all of you I would not be blogging at all, it is your comments, thoughts and opinions that keep RARs going 🙂 I would have never met my wonderful co-bloggers Antonia and Adriana either, they are the BEST!! Also having a book blog gives me a great excuse to buy/read MORE BOOKS!!!!

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I would say RARs sticks to Young Adult alot more than the other genres out there only because I haven’t yet experience them yet but my co-bloggers have introduced me to lots of other non-Young Adult-ish books that I can’t wait to read this year 🙂

What is your favorite book(s)?

Vampire Academy/BloodLines Elanor&Park(this one changed my life) Covenant Series The Mortal Instrument series Let The Sky Fall Blood Red Road Crewel Cinder Beautiful Creatures

I could go on forever but if you haven’t read any of these I suggest you check them out!

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I would say going to BEA was the best thing ever!!!!! I met so many people that actually knew my blog and followed!!! That just gives me chills every time and I love it.

When did you start blogging?

I’m still a newbie. My first post went up in late-January this year, so I haven’t even been at it six months.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

It’s a common answer, but the people. Definitely my fellow bloggers. All of the bloggers who’ve been at this for a while are helpful, welcoming, and sweet. And I’ve met many wonderful authors that I might never have made contact with. It’s refreshing to realize they are just normal people like us!

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I’m still finding my way, but my plan was to primarily blog about my favorites – paranormal romance, urban fantasy, high fantasy, and some mysteries. Thanks to blogging, I have discovered a few new (to me) authors who write NA and YA, so I’ve had some of those on the blog, too.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Gah! This is one of the hardest questions to answer, because it’s constantly changing. I do have several books that I re-read often, especially when I’m in a reading rut. Those include the Harry Potter series, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, some of the Dresden Files, some Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich, and some of the In Death books by JD Robb.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Besides all the cool people I’ve met? 🙂 I have to be honest – that’s really the best. I cannot say enough about how amazing this community is!

Our Feature is Rainy Day Reads

Rainy Day Reads

Rainy Day Reads

When did you start blogging?

I started my blog, Rainy Day Reads, in August 2012.  I had been reading like a mad woman prior to that, but only really writing smaller reviews.  I started to see other book bloggers on Goodreads, and decided it would be a lot of fun to join in.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

The answer will always be, the people.  I am lucky enough to have good friends at work who love reading, so I do get to talk about a lot of books with them.  But, I have got to know so many more fellow book lovers through my blog.  It is amazing to be able to talk about all of the wonderful books we love.  I have also found so many awesome books that I would have never found if not for my blog, and fellow bloggers.  That is priceless.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I love all kinds of books, however as of late I am really enjoying contemporary romance.  Doesn’t matter if it is Young Adult, New Adult or Adult… I am loving them all.  I also have some of my favorite Paranormal books, but those are mostly from series that I’ve already started.  I haven’t started a new Paranormal series in a while.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Is this a serious question?  How long do you have? Cause I could go on for a long, long time…

I think I will narrow them down by my favorites of 2013 so far.  Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park, I simply adored this book!  But I have also loved This Girl and Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover, Leo and Leo’s Chance by Mia Sheridan, Love Love by Beth Michele, Consequences by Aleatha Romig, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin… honestly I could go on and on.  I best stop there.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Again, this is such a tough question!  So many completely awesome things have happened since I started my blog.  Recently, I started a feature on my blog called Author Spotlight.  I sent out about 15 eMails to some of my favorite authors, requesting interviews and they all responded yes.  This was a very special moment for me,  I sent out so many at once because I didn’t think very many would be able to take the time to answer my questions.

Also, in that same weekend, I was given an early copy of Left Drowning by Jessica Park, and an early copy of Losing Hope my Colleen Hoover.  I was flabbergasted.  Honestly, that had to be the best weekend since becoming a blogger.

Mad Hatter Reads

When did you start blogging? July of 2012, so not quite a year ago.

What is your favorite part of book blogging? Making connections with other bloggers and readers. I’ve always loved to read but everyone I knew either didn’t read or read in different genres so I was never able to really connect over the books that I loved. Once I got into an online bookclub and started blogging all of that has changed. Not only am I able to discuss the books that I love, but I’ve made a lot of great friends.

What type of books do you mainly blog about? My main genres are paranormal romance and urban fantasy, but my reading habits are pretty eclectic so I’ve been known to throw in a contemporary romance, thriller, or mystery when I need a break. Basically, as long as the story is good, I’ll read it. What is your favorite book(s)?

I have a list a mile long and I tend to fall in love with series more than stand-alone books. At the top is Harry Potter, Stephen King’s Dark Tower series, and Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Actually connecting and talking with authors. Before blogging I never would have dreamed that I would ever have the chance to speak with any of the amazing people who create these amazing worlds. Now to have them not only know my name but to chat either on FB, Twitter or email is just incredible. I have to admit that every time it happens it just makes my day and I do a little fangirl dance where no one else can see.

If you have experienced the Fiktshun family of blogs. Please do so. I would also like to meet my co-bloggers, who are amazing, I owe all of them drinks also! Junkee Con??? Our Feature is ~ Bookingly Yours ~

When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in July or August 2008 – in Multiply. I transferred my posts to Blogger a few months after because of Multiply’s limited features. The reason why I started blogging was to keep a list of my bought books. For three years, I only read and blog every Friday night to Sunday morning because of my hectic schedule at work. It was only in 2011 that I had more free time to read and blog because I changed career (now working as a college instructor, teach and go style).
What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Reading, promoting new books and knowing the authors behind those books. And of course meeting awesome bloggers!
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I am an eclectic reader, I enjoy reading different genres but I prefer paranormal romance, horror and young adult books.
What is your favorite book(s)?
LOTR – all-time-favorite! I even named my kids after the LOTR characters. Named my
7 yo son, Elessar Andrei, after King Elessar (Aragorn) and my 4 yo daughter, Eowyn Audrey after Princess Eowyn, niece of King Theoden of Rohan.
Next is Vampire Academy and Georgina Kincaid series, so in love with these two written by Richelle Mead.
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
I love to read other posts and reviews of other bloggers, I realized that there are too many great books from unknown/new authors. Before I started blogging, I tend to stay away from unknown authors. I never browse books whenever I’m inside the bookstore. It’s like I go to specific aisle and would only look at books written by famous authors.
