#FF Time! Feature & Follow – Get Your Hop On.

Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Increase Blog FollowersThe Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Little Book Pixie

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging on September of 2013, I was always a bit intimidated to start a blog but a friend encouraged me and I?m glad to say that I’ve been able to juggle life and blogging.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part has to be that the Book Blogging community is the first place where I could speak about my love for books without people making fun of me; sadly  most of my friends and family don’t get why I like to read so it was amazing to find a place that has so many amazing people that do get my love for books.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I mainly like Young Adult Books since they are my favorites but I also read romance novels and some classics, I’m trying to expand a bit.

What is your favorite book(s)?

I have to many to count but my all time favorites are The Harry Potter Series, 1984, The Count of Montecristo and anything that Julie Kagawa writes.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I think it was the first time I received and ARC; I had a horrible day at school and when I got home there was a package with a free book inside and some related merchandise, the feeling I got was amazing.

This weeks Question:

Characters, sometimes our favorites, die during books. If you’d get to choose, who would you bring back? via Howling for Books

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a favorite character die yet. But, then again that is why I haven’t finished a certain Dystopian series that is now a major motion picture. Yeah. Maybe Kisten from the Rachel Morgan series. I was really really P.O.d when he got killed off.

What books would you give to newbies in your favorite genre? (Ex. I’m a newbie to high fantasy and EVERYONE said to ease into it with the Throne of Glass series!)  via Take Me Away…

Reading YA Rocks

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging blogging about books back in November 2010. But I just started blogging at Reading YA Rocks this past September.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Everything! Can I say that? I love the community, I love getting the chance to discover books and authors I might never have discovered otherwise, and I love rambling about all things book.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Mostly YA. I do love reading PNR/UF and NA contemp but I am not so great at reviewing them.

What is your favorite book(s)?

WIZARD AND GLASS by Stephen King. Hands down favorite of all time.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

“Meeting” and getting to know the amazing designer, blogger and person that is Parajunkee. 🙂 No joke. Of course getting the chance to beta books by authors I adore and respect, getting a character named after me, getting listed in the acknowledgements of a few books, getting blurbed once or twice, and getting to meet these amazing authors has been fantastic. And making a really great friend – Jaime of Two Chicks on Books – is one of the very best things that happened because of book blogging.

Living on Borrowed Days

When did you start blogging?
I initially began blogging in 2010, but I wasn’t consistent with posting on a regularly basis, because I was quite intimidated by the whole HTML coding element; plus, at the time, I was a mommy of three! On top of that, I was homeschooling and I was pregnant with my fourth! So. . .yeah, I didn’t have a lot of time to teach myself the nuts and bolts of managing a blog. Despite the contrary, I am here now. Blogging. Ever so avidly. I suppose this is because my kids are older now. . .four years older to be exact 🙂

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part of book blogging

  • There is no community like the bookworm community. They are kind, intelligent, spunky, adventurous, they can express themselves by the power of words (which I love), they are wonderful storytellers, thus their blogs are amusing! They’re witty, creative and awesome!
  • There is a diversity in which books are viewed and assessed, I love reading book reviews from different vantage points
  •  Free books! Free ARC’s! Free audiobooks!
  • As a book blogger, you are branded the title, “Professional Reader” ha!

What type of books do you mainly blog about?
For the most part, I am a YA fanatic (I wonder if my young and feeble heart will one day catch up to my thirty-something mind, or is it the other way around?), but recently I have taken on a variety of genres. More to the question though, I’ve mostly reviewed YA & Dystopian novels on my blog

What are your favorite books?
Favorite Stand Alones: The Fault in Our Stars, The Kite Runner, The Help, Life of Pi, A Walk to Remember, Landline, The Rose Master, The Giver
Favorite Series: The Lunar Chronicles, Angellfall (Penryn & the End Days), The Maze Runner, Graceling Realm, The Hunger Games, Gregor the Overlander, Divergent, Percy Jackson and The Olympians

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
There are so many amazing things that blogging has invited into my life, but namely, blogging has subdued all my countless wasted hours on social media and I am eternally thankful for it, because at least with blogging, I am making use of my brain and not binding it to mindless propaganda.

Becky’s Barmy Book Blog

When did you start blogging?
I started blogging around December 2007

What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I love the connection between other bloggers and readers. How everything feels like one big community amd always so welcoming. And of course, hearing about all the new cool books!

What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I mainly blog about YA, mostly fantasy or contemporary. That is what I would always go for but I do occassionally branch out if I hear good things about a book.

What are your favorite books?
That is such a hard question as I love so many, Harry Potter is of course always going to be up there. Shadow Falls series by CC Hunter, Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy, Geek Girl series by Holly Smale. Seriously I could be here all day listing the books I love!

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
The best thing would have to be winning an iPad. A publishing company was running a competition for bloggers where you had to review one of their books and post both a written and video review and one would be picked to recieve an iPad and I was lucky enough to win it. I would never have believed it but it was purely the best moment ever!

Perusing Bookshelves

1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in June and it was the best decision I ever made.

2. What is your favourite part of book blogging?
Book blogging has opened my eyes to even more books and genres. Before I started a book blog, I restricted myself to reading only a certain type of genre, but blogging has encouraged me to branch out to other genres and books that I loved as much!

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Young Adult, definitely. Young Adult books have intrigued me for a long time, but since I promised myself to read and discover more books, I also blog about New Adult novels occasionally.

4. What is your favourite book(s)?
I could go on and on forever with my ever-changing list of books that are my favourite! However there is one book that particularly stands out in my mind, and it is The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski. Oh, that book. I finished it just recently and it gave me ALL THE FEELS. It’s official: Marie Rutkoski is now my favourite author!

5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Interacting with more bookish people (and authors!)! I used to feel alone with no one to gush over books and my last great read, but since I started book blogging I found a whole lot of people who I could talk to and relate. I also gathered up the courage to tweet an author whose book I loved dearly and received a reply the next morning. BEST. FEELING. EVER.

Parajunkee's ViewBookCatPin

When did you start blogging?
I just started this July.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?
The blogging community! I’ve been receiving some very overwhelming support from other bloggers and readers. Everyone is just so welcoming and friendly!

What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Young Adult and New Adult are my main interest so they’re what I blog the most about.

What is your favorite book(s)?
There are so many but I’m going to have to pick The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare because they were the books that introduced me to YA and got me back into reading. I used to read when I was younger but somehow I just stopped. Then I picked up City of Bones one day because I’d seen some recs online and I haven’t stopped reading since!!

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Besides meeting other really awesome book bloggers I would say it’s that I got to interact with authors!! They’re like the celebrities in the book world so everytime I get a retweet, favour or a reply on Twitter from an author, I squeal and do a happy dance inside 😀
