The name and genre this book is listed in (ON AMAZON) do not give it justice. The cover, name, and everything else lead you to believe this is gonna be another one of those explicit erotica contemporary romances that are really nothing more than a bunch of sex scenes and little plot. But, this book is nothing of the sort. I was surprised that it is classified within erotica, because I would have thought this would be a straight up romance. Yes, it’s hot – but there is a whole lot more going on than just sexy time.

For one the plot is original, the characters are unique, and the writing is done well. While the topic of the plot might seem shallow, divorced, mom of three, wants to check some things off her list so she will get out of a sex rut, it’s again, nothing of the sort. There is so much going on with this story, most of all the character interaction. I found I was rooting for the ex-husband, and then I was rooting for Mateo – Mr. I’m going to check all your boxes, hottie. Then I was rooting for Emerson to just ditch all the fluff and go out on her own and find herself outside of the bedroom. That means a lot to me when I’m reading a book. I’m telling you, it was an enjoyable read. Sexy, yes, but with a lot more going on then just a bucket list of sexual interactions.

The only thing negative I can say about this book was the introduction of Mateo. He’s suddenly there, as the guy that’s been “waiting” for her in the wings. Now he thinks she’s ready, so bang – let’s get it on. I found I wanted him to work for it a little bit more. It had that tnsta-love flavor to it, which honestly is not my thing. But, there was a lot more redeeming things about this book, other than that. So, get yourself a copy of The Sex Bucket List by Prescott Lane. It’s a KU freebie – so you really don’t have an excuse.

“The man always looks like he’s ready to devour me…It’s been a long time since a man looked at me like that.”

Emerson’s a sexy mom of three.

And if you call her a MILF, I’ll kick your a**.

She’s got a sex “to do” list, and I’m just the man to help her check some things off.

But this isn’t my story. It’s hers.

Unfortunately for me, her story involves an ex-husband, a kid that hates me, and a pretty nice shot to my nuts. She’s a woman who thinks too much, always with a plan, a list, but I’ve got a list of my own.

Mateo likes to tease me that I have lists for my lists. But I didn’t hear him complaining when he stumbled upon my Sex Bucket List.

This is the story of how I brushed the cobwebs off my sex life, put myself back onto my list and not only fell in love with a younger man, but with myself, as well.

Our kiss is hard and rough, and it has my legs clenching together.  His hands go to my ass, pulling my dress up slightly, lifting me up onto the edge of my desk, grinding against me.  Wearing a wrap dress today was a good call.  I usually wear wrap dresses because they are no fuss, add a nice cinch to my waist, and feel like pajamas.  Easy access wasn’t one of the reasons, but I’m thankful for it now.

Wrestling with his shirt, I yank it out of his pants, desperate to feel his skin under my fingertips.  His tongue finds my neck, and he kisses a path along my collarbone.  I thrust against every hard inch of him.  He pulls on the tie of my dress, and I wrap my legs around his waist.  Picking me up, he pushes me up against the floor-to-ceiling window.

I can’t remember the last time a guy banged me up against a wall, or a window, for that matter.  This is a perk of being with a younger man.  Am I really going to do this?  In my office?  In the middle of the day?  He must feel my hesitation because he lowers my legs to the ground, flipping me towards the window, his hard dick pushing up against my ass, his warm breath tickling my neck.

He whispers in my ear, “Number 19.  Orgasm in a public place.  I’m saying this counts.”  I look down the few stories to the busy Atlanta street, the neighboring building.  Roughly, he forces my legs apart with his foot then reaches his hand between my legs and pushes my panties to the side.  “Your list belongs to me,” he says, his voice hard.

‘Merica – Classic American Literature You Should Probably Read

I feel unAmerican to admit that I wasn’t a HUGE fan of classic American literature. It’s almost painful for me to read Steinbeck, and Hemingway with some of his titles underwhelmed, and don’t get me started on Nathaniel Hawthorne. Unfortunately, during my high school experience, those were the titles that my teachers loved to force feed during American Lit classes. Sophomore year almost killed me by reading nothing but Steinbeck and Hawthorne, almost to the point of that I wanted to put all classic American lit in a box and hide it away, never to venture that way again. That is until my grandmother handed me Red Badge of Courage and the complete works of Walt Whitman. And I learned not to stereotype… here are my favorite classic American works, and the ones I think you should read.

James Franco Reads The Dead Zone and the Planets Align

The Dead Zone is a classic Stephen King, published in 1979, now available in audiobook and read by James Franco. The Dead Zone isn’t my favorite Stephen King, but that’s like comparing chocolate ice cream. With the narration by James Franco, they did a major push to get this one out there and “reread” by the masses. There is always a difference in reading and hearing it on audiobook, I think of audiobooks as performances – like a play of a book. And it’s even better when I’ve read the book, and now get to hear it on audiobook. Like an encore. This was an all-star encore!
