Book Blogger Hop

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Book Blogger Hop

The Feature: One Book Two

When did you start blogging?

Ivana & Nell started this blogging adventure in March 2015.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Ivana:  Getting to know some of the authors and knowing that I’m helping out more than just by buying one book.

Nell:  I love having fun with the books, the reviews, the other bloggers I meet, and the authors that email me are an extreme thrill.  It seems they really appreciate what I’m doing, and it’s not really any different than what I did personally on Amazon & Goodreads – it’s just that we have our own venue now.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Ivana: urban fantasy and other things supernatural, historical fantasy

Nell:  urban Fantasy, paranormal romance & mystery thriller, political intrigue

Ruby: romance, horror, and sci-fi, mystery – actually anything

Annie: mystery/thriller, who-done-its and sci-fi/fantasy

Vahn: urban fantasy, sci-fi, political Intrigue, thriller, fantasy, mystery

Fiona: everything – but mostly what is currently popular with YA

Percy: speculative fiction, sci-fi and fantasy, thrillers

Kat: urban fantasy, young adult fantasy/dystopians, and sci-fi.

The Phantom: Whatever the hell he/she feels like! 😉

One Book Two is primarily for genre, particularly speculative, fiction.  So if it’s paranormal, supernatural, or otherworldly, we like it.  However, each of our 9 reviewers have individual tastes, so you also find some romance, mystery, thriller, and even non-fiction on the site.

What are your favorite books?

Ivana:  Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley

Nell:  Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones, Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland plus lots of others

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Ivana: In addition to having fun, learning new things, finding new books, and befriending authors, I now have a back-up plan if I ever lose my job.  I’d jump into something relating to the book industry — proofreading, ebook formatting, website and social media updating, or something along those lines.

Nell: The best thing has been the learning experience.  The book world is huge and reading is only the barest fringe of it.

Share a random quote from the book you are currently reading.- Suggested by Journey Through Fiction

“The weight of my mother’s confession steadily pressed the air from my lungs until psychological suffocation felt like a very real threat. I tried to lean forward staring intently through the one-way glass into the room where she sat, but again chains and cuffs held me painfully short of where I wanted to be.” – Menagerie by Rachel Vincent

Next Week’s Question:
