A cute story that has a very sexy Alpha and a clueless heroine was fun to read but had me thinking “have I read this before?” on numerous points throughout the story. Well written, but just not that original.
CoCo is the daughter of a shoe designer, she’s spoiled, pampered and out of touch with reality. Rian is the best of the best, but he’s judgmental, egotistical and rude and doesn’t want anything to do with CoCo. He’s forced to take her case and he makes his dislike of her evident from the start. He forces her to do things, just because he knows she’ll hate them. CoCo intentionally baits him to push his buttons just the same. Match made in heaven.
The romance was cute and very sexy. I liked Rian, CoCo, not so much. I thought they deserved each other though. It was a nicely paced and sexy read. Again, I just found the storyline rather unoriginal. I’ve read numerous stories about spoiled heroines getting hot and heavy with the bodyguard. Van Meter did change up a few tropes, but not enough to make this a great read.
Recommendation: Looking for a sexy book to pass the time? This one is for you. Contemporary romance with sexy-bits. For fans of paranormal romances of a more lighter nature, check this one up. If you like a bit of mystery with a touch of paranormal – this is also a great one for you. Enjoy! And if you are looking to read DIVERSE paranormal romance novels – this is DEFINITELY the book for you.
I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Guarding her body…
CoCo Abelli is the last woman Rian Dalton wants to protect. A spoiled heiress to a designer shoe empire with a reputation for hard partying and getting into trouble? Nope, Rian wants nothing to do with CoCo's kind of trouble. Especially when she has a body designed to make grown men fall to their knees…
Rian is rude and hostile, and CoCo can't resist baiting him—especially with her, uh, assets. When their sparring suddenly erupts into one naughtily hot night, CoCo wonders if maybe this "bodyguard" thing might be okay after all. Until someone tries to kill her. Now Rian has compromised himself, and there's only one way to put distance between CoCo and her killers…by putting himself in the most dangerous position of all!
