What freaked your geek today?
Hey guys! This is the first of my posts about the hotel and the local attractions in Dallas for #RT15. The first attraction I want to tell you about is the Reunion Tower. The Reunion Tower is this:
The tower is attached to the hotel which makes it extremely convenient to visit. It costs $16 per person but hotel guests get 20% off. Yay! It’s open 10 am to 10 pm.
After you pay, you will move to an area, and a photographer will take a picture of you. Do this because you get to do cool stuff with the picture.
The tower is 470 ft in the air, and you will have an Elevator Ambassador to help you up to the tower. The elevator moves 7 ft per second, and it takes 68 seconds to get to the top.
Here are the cool things you can do when you get to the top:
1. Pick your picture’s background, and email it to yourself:
2. You can play around with the Halo System. The Halo System is a system of screens, cameras, and software that circle the inside of the tower. When you walk up to it and put your hand up, it senses you and pulls up a menu. You can choose to look at the area, zoom in on a particular location, or have the historical info for each site shown to you. Just in case you didn’t know Dealey Plaza (the place where Kennedy was assassinated) is within walking distance from the hotel, and you can see it from the tower. (More on Dealey Plaza in another post)
3. If you prefer to see things with your own eyes, you can also go outside on the Geo Deck. I liked standing out on the deck and checking things out for myself.
This is my picture from the experience. I love that purse! I highly suggest taking some time out to visit the tower if heights, landscape, techy stuff (the Halo System is really awesome), or history interests you. So what do you think? Will you check out the tower?
I received free admission for my honest review. All photos are my own.
