The Drama that is Rocking the Book Blogger World:
- Y’all, I don’t normally do “newsy” posts, but DISTURBING on so many levels is ‘Am I being catfished?’ An author confronts her number one online critic. I can’t even begin to talk about this.
- The Bustle article that is painting Hale as a victim ” – KATHLEEN HALE CONTROVERSY BRINGS UP MAJOR ISSUES IN THE NEW ERA OF BOOK BLOGGING, SOCIAL MEDIA – author of this piece, Caitlin White even tweeted #TeamHale – but later deleted her tweet (nothing goes away) and then expects us to suck down her article as impartial…
- Digging deeper, book bloggers are digging up other “stories” by Hale, in which again, she paints herself as both “stalker,” “attacker” and “victim.” This is scary, because what if Hale wouldn’t have run away when she went to Harris’ door? #scary
- i4U paints a different picture – In Other News: Kathleen Hale Stalks A Reviewer finally an article that calls a spade a spade – “justifying criminal behavior doesn’t illustrate the mind of a rational person. Nor does joking about breaking laws for the sake of a bad review.”

In the wake of Kathleen Hale’s outrageous bad behavior, I shared a blog post on ways that bloggers can protect themselves and stay safe while doing the thing that they love. You can find it here: http://www.fromtheshadows.info/2014/10/blogging-strategies-for-keeping-safe.html
Thanks for the mention! I’m glad you’re mentioning Kathleen Hale – Blythe has been a GR friend of mine for years, and it’s just disgusting what Ms Hale did. I can’t believe she actually thinks she did the right thing, and people are condoning this type of behaviour.
Wow, the Hale thing is stirring up the hornet’s nest! I’m curious to see what the final outcome will be-frankly, I’d be surprised if the author gets another book published.
Isn’t it? I was kinda of in the middle after I read her initial article – in the line of “like attracts like” – and if you put out crazy it’s gonna find you… but after I read some responses and then her earlier article about her teen “stalking” – I realized that Hale tells a great story, she really does, because she succeeded in me not “seeing” the real issue here. And it is the fact that a negative review and a few tweets, led to her showing up on the doorstep of someone’s house and then even after that – calling and harassing someone at their work..cyberstalking someone and then the coup de grâce – the damn death blow of death blows – writes a piece in a large webzine that calls out this person and paints them in a negative light – to further entice cyberstalking and bullying by other sympathetic readers. I hope her karmic retribution is video taped and posted on youtube. Ooh that was a rant lol…
I’m usually pretty laid back about ‘drama’ but this whole thing is really getting to me. I’ve decided to throw an impromptu post about it and I’ll be posting it tomorrow 🙂
Nice. Can’t wait to read.
