Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
*waves*

You know, it’s funny. I can write a book, I can write a blurb and sometimes I can write a blog post, once in a while anyway. But every time this question comes up, I draw a blank. Deciding what you might want to know, what you might not want to know. What is To Much Information. *giggles*

So hear it goes… I am 31 – nearly 32 (shh) and I am a full-time single mom. My son, who never lets my life get boring, is eight, he’ll be nine in April (They grow up so fast). He is in third grade and LOVE’s Minecraft, though I can’t think of an 8 year old this day in age who doesn’t.. but we were talking about me right? Well, I have essentially retired from a career in mortgages where I’ve spent the last thirteen years of my life. I live in Glendale Arizona – yes it is hotter than hell in the summer, but worth it every day in between, there is something about the smell of blooming cacti and the desert that is beyond appealing. I was born in Des Moines, Iowa. Raised in and Graduated from Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley Minnesota. My Best Friend and I have been friends since 6th grade. (I can’t believe she’s put up with me for so long. *smooches*). I moved to Baltimore where I met my now ex-husband and then in 2006 I moved to Phoenix/Glendale.

Give-Me-Reason_coverAReMy life is bland, boring, and otherwise uneventful, which is why I write – keeps my life fun, exciting, and allows my own fantasies to come to life.

Too much information? 🙂

In your own words, tell us a little bit about your book?
The Reason Series is a four book miniseries about a woman named Vivienne who has dealt with more than any one girl should have to face in her lifetime. She’s faced neglect, abuse, homelessness, and poverty. She’s hit rock bottom, working in a dinner to barely make ends meet when she meets a man who wants to help her, but for a girl who’s been on her own for so long, accepting that help is harder than she thought.

When her past comes back to harm her, literally, the man so determined to help her, is there once again. Only now she’s realized her mistakes and wants to make things better for herself and the life she is living.

Mikah is sweet, caring, loving and an Angel.

Can you tell us about the characters in your book? Who is your favorite?
Oh boy – I’m not sure I have a favorite because I love them all.

Vivienne – my fiery tiger, with long bright red curly hair down to her butt, I love for the fact that she is strong and determined and I LOVE her for the fact that she is a level headed girl, who realizes some of her biggest mistakes could have been prevented.

Give-Me-HOPE_eBookSMikah – Well what can I say about Mikah, he beautiful (duh!) sexy, smart, rich, easily lovable, and last but not least.. He HAS WINGS! *swoon*

So in their own way they are both my favorites – couple them with the cast of supporting characters and Vivienne and Mikah become even more lovable.

Who is your favorite?

What makes your book different from other books out there in the same genre?
The Reason Series is different then a lot of the books out there today. Sure Vivienne is poor and Mikah is wealthier than most men, but Vivienne is strong willed and determined too, making her the not so virginal heroine.

While The Reason Series is a romance, above all else, there are twists and turns that pull Mikah and Vivienne into an angelic life they never knew existed. Which isn’t something you see every day.

I also enjoy the fact that their love grows before the passion. While this story gets steamy, it takes a long time to get there.

What led to you going “indie”?
Being in Indie author is amazing and I have no intentions of changing that fact in the near future. I went Indie because, like many authors, I hate rejection and more importantly, I had no idea where to start. I began reading Indie Published books and realized that there was an alternative to traditional publishing and that was a golden ticket for me.

Give-Me-Desire_eBookSBeing an indie author means that I have complete control. I work hard for what I love to do and I can write anything I want for me, myself and of course my beautiful readers.

Is Writing your full time profession?
Writing is now my full time profession. Though I was not forced into it full time, I was handed an amazing opportunity when I lost my job last year in September. At the time I’d just released Give Me Reason – Book 1 in the Reason Series and things were looking good. I had a tight publishing schedule that included publishing Give Me Hope – Book 2 and Give Me Desire – Book 3 by the end of 2013. Being uninhibited from having to work 8 hours a day, be out of the house for 10, and then having all the family things, has allowed me to be able to write longer, write harder and work faster to produce the stories that I love to write. It has also given me a larger opportunity to mingle with my friends and fans.

Do you have any quirks or processes that you go through when you write?
*snort*

No

*laughs*

honestly I do and I don’t. My process is pretty much – Write it now, fix it later. Stories present themselves to me. While my debut novel, Finding Love’s Wings, I had to work for, it didn’t come to me the way I thought books should come to an author, but I had ideas in my head about what I wanted from my characters and how they would respond to one another.

Give Me Reason – Book 1 in this series presented itself in such a way that I was forced to write it down. I was forced to get it out of my brain because it was nagging at me from the moment it hit me. So I wrote it, morning, noon and night. At work, at home, on my phone while I was away, you name it, I wrote it. The subsequent books in the series however, took some more thought process and planning. I usually tend to know the end result a book and I write to get to that point.

Give-Me-Love_eBookSWho are some of your favorite authors?
I’m not sure we have enough time for this list… I adore Debra Anastasia (Poughkeepsie), Sylvain Reynard (Gabriel’s Inferno), Marata Eros (The Druid Breeders), Jennifer Probst (The Marriage Bargain), J.R. Ward (Black Dagger – who doesn’t love the BDB?), Sylvia Day (Crossfire Series) Jamie McQuire, Colleen Hoover, Tina Reber.. I could go ON and ON and ON – but those are just a few of who I love!

What are you reading now?
Right now.. I am between books actually. Though I did just finish The Beauty Series by Georgia Cates (Beauty from Pain, Beauty from Surrender, & Beauty from Love) Great GREAT Series. Plus I finished Interview With A Master by Jason Luke, amazing stuff.

While I write Paranormal and Contemporary romances, I read a lot of Contemporary, Paranormal and some good ole fashion Erotica

What advice can you give to struggling writers?
Never Give Up!

I know that it is hard, really hard, when you realize how badly you want something and being a writer you have to be passionate about what you do to do it day in and day out, but keep at it. Keep Writing! Then when you think you can’t write anymore, write some more. You wouldn’t be a writer if you didn’t have a story to tell, no matter what the genre, no matter what the content, you have a story to tell. Tell that story, and never give up.
