Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Increase Blog FollowersThe Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Our Feature is Books Make Me Happy

When did you start blogging? I started a blog for my book club in February 2009, and this blog followed a year later, in February 2010.

What is your favorite part of book blogging? I really love sharing my excitement about books I’ve read and loved. I also love helping to spread the word about the authors behind them. I’ve met (online, and in person) some incredible authors and fellow bloggers. This community is amazing.

What type of books do you mainly blog about? My main genres are anything paranormal — Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Magical Realism, Paranormal Mystery. However… I’m finding myself sucked into some really fantastic contemporary romance lately, as well.

What is your favorite book(s)? That’s an impossible question to answer definitively, but I can give you a few that popped into my head right away.
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
Vulnerable by Amy Lane
Night Myst by Yasmine Galenorn
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton
Lover Eternal by J R Ward

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging? Most of my life is wrapped up in books. The best thing that’s happened to me, I have to say, is probably the new people I’ve met, and the friendships I’ve made.

This weeks Question:

Tell us at least one new or unusual thing you’ve done in 2013.

I’ve done a few new things – they all might be lame. I’m trying to troll the routines of domesticity…

1. I became a room mom. Yeah, I don’t think they chose me because of my ridiculous organizational skills – but probably because I was the only one that checked off “ok” on that form they sent out.

2. I’m selling my actual art. I’ve sold my graphic art, but not my actual art/paintings/stuff

3. Unusual – nope – nothing unusual…I did get to speak at BEA – which I guess is unusual, considering I’ve never traveled out of state to speak.

Bookselling Time: Go to your biggest bookcases. Go to the second shelf from the top and pick out the sixth book from the left. Hardsell that book to us – even if you haven’t read it or if you hated it. (if you don’t have bookcases, don’t have six books on one shelf, etc, pick a book at random)

Also if you are worried about your followers not knowing how to follow you — here are some great banners that you might use:
