Book one of the Stitch Trilogy, Stitch is on sale for only .99 cents. Go get IT!
Shudder picks up right where Stitch left off, actually it’s about three days later, but it’s still pretty darn close. Instantly we are thrown back in to Alessa’s life. The non-stop action starts up and never lets go. It certainly didn’t take me three days to get re-hooked.
Have you read Stitch yet, you should. It’s this awesome dystopian, that doesn’t seem like a dystopian at first. Once I got to Shudder we are in full dystopian form, with weird humanoid beasts to beat. I don’t want to say much about them. Needless to say, the part where Isaac and Alessa hide from them in a dumpster had me biting my nails.
The way Samantha builds this world is great. She truly has to almost rebuild a completely different world than in the first book. Sure somethings are established, but there is so much more to learn about what happened. The world is both horrifying and hauntingly beautiful.
Alessa’s new abilities are freaky. I would not wish them on my worst enemy. Joe haunting her memories and causing problems with Isaac broke my heart. These kids had such a tough life.
The whole book was a terrifying and wonderful ride, it was as twisty and turny as Stitch.
Gah, I am so afraid to say much of anything because if I give too much out it will take some of the surprises out for other readers.
Over all Shudder is a wonderful second book. It builds upon Stitch but also moves the story forward.
Thank you so much Samantha for allowing me to read her book.
