Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Increase Blog FollowersThe Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Our Feature is Pretty Deadly Reviews

When did you start blogging? February of 2011.

What is your favorite part of book blogging? As cliche as it sounds, the community is my favorite part of blogging.  Book bloggers are some of the nicest, most genuine, and most generous people out there.  Because of my blog I’ve met some of the best people on the planet.

What type of books do you mainly blog about? I blog about darker YA – “issues” books, thrillers, horrors and dystopias.

What is your favorite book(s)? Harry Potter, of course.  Anything written by Nova Ren Suma, Marcus Sedgwick, or Holly Black.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging? Getting to connect with other readers and authors.  Authors are rock stars, and in one totally awesome instance, I attended a signing event and the authors recognized me! It was exhilarating and validating.

This weeks Question:

Q: Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.

I am just starting by Gena Showalter and I really love me some Gena, but she can write some cheesy scenes, especially in her Alien series. The Otherworld Assassin are a spin-off of her Alien Huntress series. They can get cheesy. Well, right from the start we are in crazyville, we are introduced to the Assassins and LKG is the story of  Solo and Vika. Solo is a this big hulking thing, that when mad he turns into a beast and Vika is a Lithuanian deaf girl that is beat by her father and forced to care for Alien slaves that her father keeps in a zoo to attract tourists. Vika has to sedate her prisoners and then give them some kind of enzyme bath. Of course she is this total virgin deaf girl, so the opening of this book is Solo trapped in this cage with deaf girl giving him a sponge bath while he is sedated, from Vika’s POV. And it’s just so silly as she describes his rock hard abs and huge muscles then begins to kiss him as he is sedated. Her first kiss of course, to the pass-out alien in the cage. I was giggling instead of swooning.
