If you are new to the #FF fun, Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this #FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES > Feature & Follow Friday and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.
Our Feature – Lauren @ Lauren Gets Literal
Hi fellow book bloggers! I’m Lauren, from Lauren Gets Literal. I’m pretty new to the book blogging world, but I love to read and enjoy writing so I feel right at home here. I love YA fiction of pretty much any kind; paranormal romance, contemporary, dystopian, and historical to name a few of my favorites.
I live with my husband and peculiar Boston Terrier, Millie. We love to travel, going to the beach or the lake, and have been called fun junkies.
I’m currently reading Wildefire by Karsten Knight and am anxiously waiting on Forever by Maggie Stiefvater to show up at my door!
Random PJ Comment: Hey Lauren! I have a Boston too — Broby!
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don’t like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!
Pet Peeves – ack! This is a hard one. I’m not a slave to the usually grumpiness. I think love triangles can be fun and if you add the right sparkle to a vampire, I guess he could be hot. Not to mention a smidge of bark to any werewolf…
Yet, if you overdo an ALPHA, I might have a problem. I HATE and yes, hate is a strong word, but it drives me batty if the hero turns out to be an over blown Alpha. My ideal Alpha is a man that is confident, sexy, strong, powerful and knows how to treat a strong, powerful, sexy female. Not an over-inflated chauvinist that calls his chick, little lady, or little one, or whatever nonsense that signifies LESSER. That sure gets under my skin.
Me BIG Alpha, you little woman – I hit you on head, drag you to cave and ravish you and you’ll like it! Nah, I ain’t down with that. That might work for some 1960s housewife, but that doesn’t play well in this over-confident girl’s dating handbook and I don’t want it to play in my paranormal romances or urban fantasies. Just because a man is an Alpha doesn’t make him a caveman. Just like if a strong female lead is confident and self-sufficient doesn’t make her prickly and jaded. I hate it when authors fall back on these devices and it is one of the reasons I don’t like a lot of romances. Nuff said. Happy Friday peeps.
Now for the Follow Fun!
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
If you’re new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
Happy Follow Friday! Follow it up with your twitter address if you want to get that one out!
