If you are new to the #FF fun, Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this #FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES > Feature & Follow Friday and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.
Our Feature – MotherLode
I’m an avid reader who reviews digital Indie books. I’m never without my Sony ereader, so I’m never far from a book! I read all the time- while brushing my teeth, eating lunch, before I go to bed, while walking around the house… whenever I can! My mother used to comment that I was the only person she knew who could read a book and sweep the kitchen floor at the same time. Since using my sony ereader, I’ve stopped reading while washing dishes and cooking, but I find most other things can be done with a book in hand.
I started off leaving short reviews on Smashwords, and I got good feedback from my online friends. When hopping through various book blogs one day, I thought to myself, “wait, I can do this! I can read, I can write, and I have an opinion on what makes a good book!” and my lovely new (time-consuming!) hobby was born. It’s sometimes difficult to fit the time in for the read and review, since my full-time job and my family of 5 keep me hopping!
Q: In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran’s Day tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.
I have two. Because I would be remiss to mention both. I actually probably have a lot more, Uncles and cousins, but two of my favorite boys served and are currently serving. The first one is my husband, a member of the USMC, he is prior now, but he did his time in the heavy guns (grunt) and it made him into the person he is today. He also went through some nasty in Somalia in the early 90s. So, Happy Birthday Marine Corp and Happy Veterans day honey.
Now, for my baby brother, Captain Dennis (funny saying that, I would have to salute him if I was still in!), pilot extraordinaire, USAF, who served in Afghanistan and is currently abroad in South Korea. Den set out with a dream and has not looked back since. I’m so proud of him, he is truly a rock star in my mind and I miss him terribly. He just let us know that he’ll be on another tour abroad for a few more years.
Now for the Follow Fun!
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
If you’re new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
Happy Follow Friday! Follow it up with your twitter address if you want to get that one out!
