People ask me why do I write. That’s simple, because there are these ideas in my head, very vivid and vocal stories, that are screaming to get out. But just getting those seriously weird scenarios written is only part of my goal. I want to write stuff that makes people feel.

Entertained. I want readers to get sucked in to my stories to the point they lose track of time.

Humor. I like to live life with laughter and I want my hero and heroine to have that too. To that end, I believe in snappy dialogue with what I feel are real world reactions. I especially enjoy total guy moments where he says the totally wrong thing, because you know, he’s a man. Lol

Romance. I am a total believer in love at first sight. Yes, sometimes it might start out as attraction, but when that connection keeps building…it’s love, baby. But that doesn’t mean my happy couple understand that right away. Sometimes I need to torture them a little bit first.

Happily Ever After. I want my couple to get that sigh worthy moment at the end of the book where they realize they love each other and that no matter what the future holds, they’ll face it together.

Impatience. I have this naughty tendency in series to put a little tease in the epilogue to give you a hint as to the next couple in the series. I call it foreplay, my readers call it torture lol.

There is nothing more awesome than knowing I’ve achieved these emotional elements with a story. Nothing greater than hearing from a reader that her giggles woke her husband, or that they snorted a beverage or had people eye them funny on the bus. If I can make you feel, then I’ve done my job as a writer.

For a dose of my brand of humor, here’s a sneak peek from A Tiger’s Bride coming in September.

Now some would probably say, if he knew he was being chased, and if he valued his hide, then all he had to do was give Teena up. Leave her behind and go home.

To that, the man, not the beast, growled, “Hell no.”

But escaping with her was only part of the steps to ensure their future. Once he reached his homeland, he’d have only a little time to convince her to keep him before the council became involved. They tended to frown on shifters, even practically royal ones, abducting women.

Apparently it was so eighteen hundreds.

Old didn’t mean it wasn’t efficient. By marrying Teena, he solved a few issues. First, he could tell the council she was his wife, and they’d have a more difficult time forcing him to give her back. Two, their marriage gave her a legitimate case to stay—even though just being with me should be enough. And three, in the eyes of the law and anyone watching, it makes her mine.

Mine. Touch and die. How cute that his inner tiger lived by grandmother’s unofficial motto.

He wondered how many would admire his perfectly executed escape. Teena certainly didn’t seem to appreciate it–yet. She threatened to scream and to draw attention so…

He plunged a needle in her ass, and promised to, “kiss it better later.”

Her wifely reply. “You’ll be dead later.”

Not the most promising of words, but hey, at least she planned on a later.

About Eve Langlais

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
