PJV Quickie: There is nothing more refreshing than a satisfying romance novel. REDEMPTION BAY has everything a romance needs to have, great characters, a beautiful well-crafted setting, tension, great secondary characters and a fabulous and believable HEA.

Review: Sometimes you read a contemporary romance and the story is so similar to other titles, or it’s just  a “normal” romance that a few weeks later the plot and characters aren’t even memorable.  That wasn’t the case with REDEMPTION BAY.  Reading RaeAnne Thayne’s latest novel was like taking a memorable and sweet romantic journey into two charming character’s lives. The story takes place in the town of Haven Point, one of those small towns romance novelists love to create and I love to read. The heroine is a spunky, take-charge chick, McKenzie Shaw the mayor of Haven Point. Her town is beautiful, but it’s decaying. One of the main reasons for its decline is Ben Kilpatrick, who closed his family’s factory and cut off all economic growth within the city. Now he’s back, looking to opening another factory and facing the ghosts of his past. And a sexy mayor who is both frustrating and alluring at the same time.

A wonderful novel! I love the tension between Ben and McKenzie. I also enjoyed discovering the reasons behind Ben’s actions of the past and how McKenzie dropped her prejudice as she also discovered it. It was a wonderful read and I can’t wait to visit Haven Point again.

Recommendations: Fans of series like Fool’s Gold and Wynette, Texas should really enjoy.

McKenzie Shaw would do anything for her beloved hometown of Haven Point. It may be small and struggling, but it's never let her down…unlike gorgeous, infuriating Ben Kilpatrick. He was her childhood hero until he closed his family's factory, leaving the town's economy in shambles. Now he's back—his tech firm is considering opening a local facility. For Haven Point's sake, McKenzie has to grit her teeth and play nice.

What could a town filled with painful memories ever offer Ben? He left Haven Point behind years ago, for good reason. Yet seeing the town through the eyes of McKenzie—its fiery young mayor—he suddenly has his answer. If only he can resolve the animosity crackling between them, Ben may have found the place where he can build ties and find healing…a place where love arrives when it's least expected.
