So excited to welcome Victoria Dahl to the PJV in honor of Harlequin’s Very Valentine’s Read Blog Tour! I love Dahl’s books, they are sexy, fun and perfect for Valentine reading!

valentines_HQN_banner_final (1)Thank you for your time Ms. Dahl, I have to say I’m a big fan and it’s an honor to interview you for this Valentine’s special.

Thank you so much! I’m thrilled to be here.

Which hero from your stories would you like to be your Valentine?

Way to start off with a really hard question! Wow. You know I have twenty-five heroes I have to choose from, right?

Okay, if I’m being practical, I’d say Tom Duncan from Flirting with Disaster (available starting January 27). He’s steady and sexy and he looks great in a suit. And he has a soft spot for creative women! But if I’m being impractical… I’d go with Alex Harcourt from Looking for Trouble. Shaved head, tattoos, and a motorcycle? I have a feeling there wouldn’t be a fancy restaurant involved on this date.

What is the best Valentine’s date? Real or imagined?

I love food, so there would have to be food involved. I’m going to go with private dinner on a beach with champagne and so much dessert. And the beach should be private too, of course. Okay, let’s just go with a whole private island, because that would so suit me and my romance needs.  A private island with a catered dinner right on the beach.

As a writer of romance, do you have higher expectations for Valentine’s day?

You know, I guess that depends. On one hand, I don’t care at all about the normal Valentine’s Day trappings. (Wait, that’s a lie. I want candy.) I’m not concerned with roses and greeting cards, and I definitely don’t care about expensive gifts. (Private islands excluded.) To be honest, my husband and I both forget our anniversary more often than not!

But maybe that makes it harder for a partner on Valentine’s day. Because you can go out and buy me a card and a present and it won’t mean anything to me if the real love and respect that I write about isn’t there. Because that’s what I think is important. Not romantic gestures, but genuine respect and desire.

Do you have anything special planned for this Valentine’s?

Ummmm…see above. 😀 This Valentine’s day will be complicated because my husband and I gave up carbs a few weeks ago. So, no candy. And I love candy. Oh boy, do I love candy. Maybe we’ll go out for a big steak dinner instead! The truly romantic part is that our kids are now old enough to stay home alone, so there will be no babysitter and no rushing back by a certain time. Now THAT is romantic.
Some quickies:

Chocolate or Flowers? Chocolate!
Boxers or Briefs? Briefs.
White linen or casual dining

A night in or a night out?
