Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Increase Blog FollowersThe Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

The YA Buzz

When did you start blogging?
January of this year–I can’t believe how time flies!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Interacting with authors–they’re my rock stars. I’m always psyched when an author responds to my tweets, and today one of my new faves, Martina Boone, just let me know she’s included an idea I gave her in her upcoming sequel! #DayMade

What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I’m a YA book blogger (as you may have guessed). 😉 I do dabble in some New Adult, though.

What is your favorite book(s)?
How about…my favorites this year? For stand alone, it’s The Here and Now by Ann Brashares. For series, it’s Compulsion by Martina Boone, first in the Heirs of Watson Island series. So swoony and fun just gosh-darn well-written. It comes out next month, and I can’t recommend it enough.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
BEA was tops–so much fun and SO many books plus the blogger picnic, and all right in my backyard!

This weeks Question:

Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing?

Question provided by: The Pegster Reads

I have about 7 unfinished books. I’m a total failure. I get bored with the books and I stop writing them. I’ve only finished 2. One was a romance and one was a Young Adult Fantasy. I lost both MS in Katrina. I’ve thought about rewriting them, but I get new ideas. I don’t think I’ll ever actually finish them, but I like to make up stories, I just don’t have it in me to finish them. The books I’m currently writing, one is a Urban Fantasy serial – I’m actually thinking I might finish them if I write them in shorts. And the other one is a Paranormal Romance. Who the hell knows if I’ll actually complete them. Oh wait – I have written 2 technical manuals that have been published. No name on them though – since they were written for companies. Boo!!!

Next Week’s Question:

Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you? – A Great Read (Love Jessica’s blog btw!!! Thanks for the great question!)

Also if you are worried about your followers not knowing how to follow you — here are some great banners that you might use:
