Last week we discussed blogging platform’s TOS (terms of service) and how that can impact your blog if you do something in violation of their TOS. You might not even realize what you are doing is “wrong” in the eyes of your blogging platform. In a casual survey, when polled, most book bloggers say that Self-Hosting a wordpress blog is the safest and most stable way to host your blog. But, that costs money. There are pros and cons of any blogging platform it is up to you to factor in those pros and cons and decide on the one that works best for you.
The Pros & Cons of some of the Major Book Blogger Blogging Platforms:[clearboth]
These are just some of the pros and cons of the different blogging platforms available to you as a book blogger. Choosing a platform that is right for you is a personal decision. I choose WordPress.org because I want total control of my blog and learned that I needed total control while I was using Blogger and had my blog “disappear” for two days. This doesn’t happen often, but once was enough for me. WordPress.org has it’s headaches – and I have gone down (max downtime was 2 hours) but it was because of my host company, GoDaddy and I called them, spoke to a real person and they fixed the issue. That is what I like. That is why I pay people. But, again it is up to your personal preferences.
