Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Increase Blog FollowersThe Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Our Feature is Tale of Two Doxies

When did you start blogging?

I am actually a total newbie to blogging; I officially started my blog on Sunday, January 26th of this year. I’m still figuring things out, but I am very excited about meeting others who are passionate about books and having the opportunity to learn about so many great reads!

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

My favorite part of book blogging (and why I decided to dive in) is the opportunity to meet others and share about all the fantastic reads that are out there! I love that I finally have a place to connect with others who are reading the same books, and have similar book interests, and that we can discuss, recommend, and commiserate over book experiences. I’m also loving all the great new books I’m learning about every day!

What types of books do you mainly blog about?

Mainly I enjoy reading and blogging about Young Adult literature and Chick Lit novels.  I’m open to a variety of genres within the YA category including: contemporary romance, fantasy, dystopian, mystery, and historical. I also love to read “Chick Lit/Romance” novels, especially certain authors in this genre (including Meg Cabot, Jennifer Crusie, Susan Mallery) and I love some UK authors as well (like Jill Mansell, Sophie Kinsella, and Hester Browne to name a few).

What is your favorite book(s)?

This is probably the hardest question – it’s like choosing your favorite child or pet! To keep things from getting to long a few of my favorite books are:

·      Harry Potter series by JK Rowling (I grew up with them and they are amazing!)

·      Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

·      Heist Society series by Ally Carter

·      Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine (fairy tale retellings, love)

·      Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

·      Pushing the Limits series by Katie McGarry

·      Heather Wells series and the Boy series by Meg Cabot

·      Song of the Lioness (Alanna) series by Tamora Pierce

…and sooooo many others. It’s so hard to choose, but if I don’t stop myself we’ll never see the end of this list. So that is a few of my many favorites.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

I would have to say getting to meet so many great new people, and to learn about so many amazing new reads. I love hearing other people’s thoughts on books and seeing what new gems they’ve found each week.
